MEET LAURA

hello!
Laura Mellberg moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to the charming lakeside college town of Davidson, North Carolina. Having lived in England and every time zone in the continental U.S., she brings a broad, informed perspective to building personalized college lists for students across the country and in Europe.

Organized yet laid-back, Laura offers a calm, structured approach to college counseling. Her program breaks the process into manageable steps with clear deadlines, helping students stay on track while gaining valuable life skills. Her enthusiasm for admissions planning shines through in every stage of her work.

As a mother, she went through the college application process with her own children and understands the challenges and wide range of emotions parents experience. With one child now in medical school, she brings an additional perspective to her work.

Fifteen years of travel writing sparked Laura's curiosity about people and places and crystallized her love for storytelling. She shows students how to convey their accomplishments and personalities effectively and engagingly through college essays and applications.

Laura earned her B.A. in English from Colorado College and a College Counseling Certificate with Distinction from UCLA. She has visited more than 150 college campuses and attends professional conferences annually.
